American Red Cross offers Professional Rescuer Training

Newton, NJ, July 14, 2010 - Your team of professional rescuers is often the first group of people to respond at the scene of an emergency, so it is critical that you give them the skills and confidence necessary to save a life. American Red Cross training is based on more than 95 years of experience in emergency preparedness and response. And, because the Red Cross works side by side with professional rescuers in all kinds of emergency situations, we know what it takes to build the best team of first responders.

American Red Cross training combines discussions and video with hands-on skills training to promote effective learning and keep students motivated. This course is based on real-life rescue scenarios and lessons that reinforce decision-making skills, so they’ll be confident when responding to an emergency. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer training includes:

  • Responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants

  • Using an AED on an adult and child victim of cardiac arrest

  • Using personal protective equipment to stop bloodborne pathogens and other diseases from spreading

This course includes the latest science on CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care and is being offered on Monday and Tuesday of August 2nd and 3rd from 6:00pm to 10pm. Participants must attend both days for certification. The cost is $80 per person and you must have a pocket mask. These can be purchased from the Red Cross at a cost of $15.  To register for this training contact Karen Puccio at 973-579-1600 or register on-line at www.sussexredcross.org.
