Red Cross Hosts Military Families Networking Group
Opportunity to Write Notes to Fort Hood Families
Newton, NJ, November 9, 2009 – The Sussex County chapter of the American Red Cross thanks veterans and active duty military, as well as their families for their service to our country and our community. Military members and their families are invited to Chapter Headquarters - 93 Spring Street, Newton, on Friday, November 13th at 7:00 pm for a free Military Families Networking Group.
Attendees will have the opportunity to write notes to military members and military families who were affected by the tragic events that transpired at Fort Hood last week. Stationary; including pens, stickers, crayons etc, will be provided. (All correspondence will be screened and sent through the local Red Cross office in Sussex County to the local Red Cross chapter in Texas for distribution.) Military members and their families are also invited to share photos, mementos, letters and stories with each other. This group provides a unique opportunity to interact with other local Military Families who have common concerns and share similar experiences. Resources available to military families are shared including, Red Cross grants for members of the U.S. Military, their immediate family members and veterans for free training in First Aid, CPR, Babysitter’s Training and even Pet First Aid.
Children are welcome and refreshments will be served. Your local Red Cross reminds you that military families are never alone in Sussex County.
