American Red Cross Celebrates Military Families Appreciation Month

Newton, NJ, November 10, 2009 – “Military Families Appreciation Month,” celebrated in November, recognizes military families for their outstanding service, selflessness and commitment to our active-duty forces. In recognition of military families throughout Sussex County, the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting an Ice Cream Social with the support of American Legion Post #86 in Newton. Veterans and active duty military families are invited to attend the event which is being held at the American Legion Post, located at 20 Yates Avenue in Newton on Saturday, November 14th from 2:00-4:00pm. There will be information regarding the American Legion, Red Cross services offered to military families, crafts for younger attendees, an opportunity to write messages to soldiers and family members stationed at Fort Hood in Texas, a chance to win dinner for two at a local restaurant and more!
