Red Cross Invites Military Families to “Breakfast and Briefing”
Newton, NJ, September 25, 2009 – Military families are never alone in Sussex County! The Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross has been there for Military personnel and their families for more than 90 years, and we will be there for the next 90 years in support of the heroes of our county. Whether your family member is getting ready to deploy, is away from home serving, or is just returning the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross wants to serve you. Military families are invited to attend a free breakfast and briefing at 10:00 am on Saturday October 10th at Chapter Headquarters in Newton to learn about available Red Cross services for military families such as our monthly Military Family Networking Group and scholarships for free Red Cross training.
Guest speaker Gerald Carozza, Staff Judge Advocate for the 99th Regional Support Command US Army Fort Dix, NJ (and Red Cross Board Member) will provide a broad discussion on resources that are available to military families in Sussex County. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
