“Dine out” - to support the American Red Cross

Newton, NJ, March 9, 2009 – On Wednesday, March 11, The Lamp Post Inn in Vernon will participate in a fundraising campaign for the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross by donating 15% of each patron’s bill to the chapter. “Dine out for the American Red Cross” is a month long event designed to support the local chapter during March, which has been proclaimed locally and nationally as Red Cross Month. Perona Farms in Sparta will do the same later this week, donating 15% of each diner’s bill from their Sunday Brunch on March 15th.

Executive Director Pat Day said, “This program is a win/win situation—families can support the county’s oldest non-profit organization while they enjoy a delicious meal together at their favorite restaurant.   This event will appeal to everyone.  It offers fine dining, Sunday brunch and even take-out meals from Hayek’s Market.  Please support the local restaurants – and Hayek’s Market - that are supporting your local Red Cross.”

The following businesses have agreed to donate 15% of each patron’s bill to the Sussex County Chapter on the designated days:

Wednesday, March 11th - Delightful Dinner at The Lamp Post Inn, Vernon

Sunday, March 15th – Elegant Brunch at Perona Farms, Sparta

Thursday, March 19th - Dine Out in Style at Andre’s Restaurant & Wine Boutique, Newton or Dine in at Home with a Tasty Home Made Take-Out Dinner from Hayek’s Market, Newton

Wednesday, March 25th - Great Food & Fun at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, Sparta

Sunday, March 29th  - Scrumptious Sunday Brunch at The Lafayette House, Lafayette

The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization that shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization, not a government agency, and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission.
