Fresh Baked Fun at Downtown Newton Blood Drive
Newton, May 27, 2009 – If the air smells extra sweet at the blood drive hosted by the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross on June 8th there’s a good reason! Red Cross volunteers and staff members will be baking a variety of delicious treats to be sold during the blood drive! This irresistible fundraiser is to raise money to support the local Red Cross chapter.
The bake sale will run during the blood drive and until all of the delicious treats are all gone. The Blood Drive will run from 12:30pm to 6:00pm and will be at the chapter’s headquarters – 93 Spring Street, Suite 101, Newton.
Eligible blood donors include those people at least age 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in good health. When donating blood, plan to spend at least one hour for registration, donation and a short rest period after donation. Eat well within three hours prior to donating and drink plenty of fluids---but donors are encouraged to save room for dessert! Plan to purchase baked goodies at the chapter’s bake sale.
Inquiries are also welcomed from organizations who would like to schedule a blood drive. For additional information on this and other Red Cross programs visit www.sussexredcross.org or call 973-579-1600.
